7 Podcasts Fresno Small Business Owners Should Be Listening To In 2017

Posted on: January 30th, 2017

I am a big fan of podcasts – especially those targeting small businesses.  Podcasts allow me to learn how other business owners are growing and managing their business and usually provide specific takeaways that I can apply to my business immediately.  Below are seven podcasts that I encourage local small business owners to listen to in 2017:

Entrepreneur on Fire: Awarded Best of ITunes, this talk show has over 1500 interviews that you can listen to during your commute.  The host, John Lee Dumas, talks with today’s most successful entrepreneurs about their successes and failures. This one is a favorite because it’s a 7-day a week podcast, allowing me to listen on the weekends when I actually might have some free time.

Super Agents Live: No, this isn’t a show about people who go undercover (although that would be cool). This one targets those in the real estate industry but most of the topics covered can be applied to any service related industry. Super Agents Live provide industry commentary from leaders like Gary Vaynerchuck, Grant Cardone and Mike Ferry. This show explores the ups and downs of real estate and how to be more successful in the field. This is a great podcast for people interested in sales, marketing, lead generation and team building.

TEDTalks Business: Some of the world’s greatest innovators and entrepreneurs give their insight on the business world. They share research, stories and insights about their different experiences. The topics range from how to speak up for yourself to the unexpected benefit of celebrating failures.  Featured talks come from Tesla’s Elon Musk, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Head MIT Media Lab, Joi Ito.

BiggerPockets: This podcast is the #1 top rated real estate podcasts on iTunes. This podcast is about keeping it real.  It provides actual real-life investors who provide actionable advice that you can apply to any business. The hosts, Josh Dorkin and Brandon Turner, take you through interviews with real people who practice what they preach. If you are looking to make the most of your investments, this podcast will give you tips and skills to make better, smarter decisions.

Every Day Is Saturday: Need some motivation? We all do from time to time and Sam Crowley is your personal life-coach. Learn how to become more positive about life and overcome everyday fears. With this podcast, you will learn how to enjoy the little things in life and realize the value you add to the world.

How I Built This: Ever wonder how Zumba, Instagram or Airbnb started? NPR brings innovators, entrepreneurs and idealist together to discuss their stories. Everyone wants to know how these people started off and this show gives you insight on what Mark Cuban, Herb Kelleher and Jim Koch did to become successful.

The EntreLeadership Podcast: This podcast is hosted by Ken Coleman, and features business superstars like Mark Cuban, Seth Godin and Jim Collins. The show is for someone looking to improve his or her leaderships skills in a work environment. Through lively discussions, this podcast will teach you how to be a better team player and develop you into the leader you want to be.

I’ve told you mine. Now, tell me yours!
